- Work in a cross functional team as the electronic design engineer from concept through prototyping / electrical validation / design validation / in-system test and continue to support in all sustaining phases.
- Specify, design and develop automotive electronic hardware for various vehicle functions such as load switching control, motor drivers, body control and digital keypads that interface CAN and LIN communication networks.
- Create rigorous testing and validation plans to fully support technology transitions from R&D concepts through to production.
- Review and digest customer requirements for initial design concepts for quoting, design costing and scheduling.
- 10+ years background in high reliability electronics designed for high volume production.
- Ability to perform board design, prototype build, bring-up, functional verification, DVT, PVT and manufacturing support.
- Excellent EE fundamentals, including the use of Oscilloscopes, DVMs, Power Supplies, soldering and CAN and LIN Interface tools.
- Automotive-grade product design experience.
- Ability to perform system design including analog and digital circuits, DC/DC and microprocessors
- Perform board design, prototype build, bring-up, functional verification, DVT, PVT and manufacturing support.
- Power control circuits utilizing MOSFETS, IGBTs, etc. from simple switching applications to complex configurable circuit break emulation with self-monitoring features.
- System architecture experience and building embedded electronic systems ranging from micro controllers to high-end processors.
- Industry experience in the automotive electronics development process for mass volume production design, with focus on Design for Test, Design for Manufacturing) and EMC compliance
- Develop embedded systems using 8-, 16- and 32-bit MCUs, ARM M0+, M4, Microchip, NXP, ST. Write and debug embedded C code for board bring-up. Design schematic generation and perform PCB layout (Altium Designer\ OrCAD).
- Understanding of PCBA package release for prototypes and production.
- Understanding of industry processes applicable to safety critical automotive systems (ISO 26262), DFMEAs, FMEDAs and PPAP.
- Understanding of Automotive Standards but not limited to ISO 11452-1, ISO 7637, ISO 10605, ISO 13766, EN 13309, ISO 14982,
- Low and High voltage and current power delivery.
- Design of vehicle network interfaces CAN FD, LIN for but not limited to J1939, CANOpen
- Software development (C, Python) to support PCBA board bring up for DVT and Built in Self Testing BIST for PCBA assembly and manufacturing.
- Microcontroller circuit design including external peripherals, transceivers and watchdogs
- Automotive-grade Tier 1 product design experience.
