In China, this role plays a critical leadership position at the intersection of patient voice, corporate reputation, and business strategy.As Head of Communications and Patient Advocacy, China, this role defines and leads an integrated country strategy that embeds patient perspectives into decision-making, strengthens disease awareness, and builds trust with external stakeholders. Working closely with senior leadership, this position shapes how Ipsen engages with patients, policy makers, media, and the broader healthcare ecosystem in China.Key impact of the role
  • Lead the China Communications and Patient Advocacy strategy aligned with global priorities and local business objectives
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the China General Manager and leadership team on reputation, advocacy, and external engagement
  • Build long-term, high-impact partnerships with patient advocacy groups, professional organisations, and industry associations
  • Drive disease awareness and patient activation initiatives that support access, outcomes, and sustainable growth
  • Represent Ipsen in high-level external forums, advocacy coalitions, and multi-stakeholder platforms
  • Lead external communications including media relations, executive positioning, thought leadership, and crisis management
  • Oversee integrated multi-channel campaigns across digital, social, and traditional media
  • Lead, develop, and inspire the Communications and Patient Advocacy team while managing agency partnerships and budgets
What this role requires
  • Extensive experience in communications and or patient advocacy within healthcare or pharmaceuticals
  • Proven leadership in shaping strategy, influencing senior stakeholders, and delivering measurable impact
  • Strong understanding of the China healthcare environment, including policy, patient ecosystem, and public affairs dynamics
  • Experience across oncology, neuroscience, or rare diseases is highly valued
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the credibility and presence to engage at executive and external senior levels
