Sharing our experience for a better blue tomorrow.INSTRUMENT SUPERVISOR - GRAN MORGUReports To: Maintenance SuperintendentBackground: Exhibit exemplary safety and supervisory skills in all matters pertaining to instrumentation maintenance works on and pertinent to the vessel.- Is responsible for ensuring its subordinates are competent to carry out their allotted tasks.- Liaises with other key management personnel.Authority: - Safety, competence, and maintenance related to electrical systems and equipment, subordinate personnel, subcontractors, inspectors, and external and ad hoc services. They liaise effectively with other key management personnel.Immediate Subordinates: Instrument Technicians, Subcontractors, Visitors, Vendor RepresentativesROLE RESPONSIBILITESMaintain and Adjust the Condition of Instrument Assets * Comply with relevant authorization procedures, safe working practices and specific instructions.
- Complete maintenance in an agreed timescale, using safe and appropriate methods and agreed procedures.
- Ensure resources and spares are planned for and used cost effectively.
- Operating requirements are obtained and are available for reference.
- Adjusted assets comply with specified operating requirements with minimum disruption and with the specified methods, tools and materials.
- Monitor and record the achievement of requirements accurately
- Use monitoring equipment or procedures correctly to assess the condition of electrical assets.
- Conduct monitoring in line with specified timescales and schedules.
- Record and communicate monitored outcomes accurately and in timely fashion.
- Comparisons of current performance are made against previous assessments and action taken where differences must be addressed
- Select appropriate tests and diagnostic procedures and apply them methodically.
- Clarify the nature of problems with instrument assets.
- Determine the cause and extent of problems in the performance and condition of electrical systems or assets.
- Use the results of inspections to determine the appropriate actions to take.
- Record an accurate and full description in the appropriate document history.
- Identify and halt unplanned discharges where possible, and report immediately according to policy, procedure and regulation.
- Equipment, waste or other materials for disposal are dealt with according to the correct procedure.
- Resources such as PPE materials tools and spares are not wasted or used inefficiently
- Establish scope of work clearly (briefings, toolbox talks, presentations.)
- Plan and control use of resources effectively (Personnel, time, materials, transport, IT).
- Promote training and competency assurance throughout the department in line with Company goals for the Unit.
- Encourage and support all department personnel to achieve training and competency targets and plan for appropriate time allocation for this area of work.
- Use of communication skills shows leadership (oral, teambuilding, recording, noting, handover, analyzing.
- Objective and consistent in assessment and appraisal of subordinates and subcontractors.
- Make recommendations and improvements in working practices for greater safety, efficiency and profitability.
- Demonstrate competence in Emergency Response drills and exercises.
- HNC / HND in instrumentation or recognized equivalent.
- 5 years' experience with offshore experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience of Permit to Work, Mechanical Isolation Standards and Risk Assessment.
- Experience and knowledge of hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities.
- Experience in Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
- COMP-EX Certified.
- Proficiency in English at a minimum of B2 level according to the CEFR international standard. Medically fit according to the Company GEMS 'Health Requirements to Work Offshore' Instruction
