From strategic partnerships to excellent executions, we're deeply embedded in Canva's growth journey across international markets.About the Role/SpecialtyAs a People Generalist in CJKI People team, you'll be a key partner in delivering against Canva China's accelerated hiring roadmap, while supporting foundational People Ops work. The role is split ~70% on talent acquisition (e.g. candidate sourcing & screening, interview coordination) and ~30% on People Ops (e.g. employee lifecycle, document support, local compliance processes, learning programs). You'll work in close collaboration with our TA Partners, People Partners, and Location Partners to ensure seamless execution across the employee lifecycle.Job DescriptionWhat You'll Do (Responsibilities)Source high-potential talents for opening roles across all functions using platforms like LinkedIn, BossZhipin, Maimai, etc - proactively engage passive candidates and create compelling outreach approaches tailored to the China marketConduct market talent mapping and competitor analysis to identify key hiring pools - track talent availability, company org structures, and compensation trends to help inform hiring strategy and prioritizationConduct recruiter screenings with shortlisted candidates to assess skill alignment, motivation, and potential fit - provide a clear, engaging overview of the role and Canva's mission while capturing insights to inform hiring team decisionsCoordinate end-to-end interview scheduling across time zones and stakeholders - ensure a smooth and efficient candidate experience by aligning with interviewer availability, preparing briefing notes, and following up to collect structured feedbackSupport employee lifecycle experience: upon requests, support processes and tasks like contract generation, renewals, documentation, timesheet coordination with vendors, etcSupport People Program launches across China, Japan, South Korea and India, including but not limited to policies, benefits, learnings, compliance related programsEnsure data accuracy in Workday updates related to team structure, job changes, and onboarding dataQualificationsWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone operationally sharp, highly organised, and passionate about helping teams scale with precision. You thrive in high-growth environments, can juggle multiple competing priorities, and care deeply about delivering a smooth and compliant experience for both candidates and internal stakeholders.Experienced in talent acquisition, and/or generalist HR/People Ops roles - ideally in a tech or fast-paced environmentStrong familiarity with end-to-end hiring process, including talent mapping, sourcing, screening, interview coordinationHands-on experience with Workday, SmartRecruiters, GoodTime or similar applicant tracking and HRIS systemsKnowledge of local employment compliance in China (e.g., labor contracts, social insurance, Hukou, etc)High attention to detail, especially when managing contracts, documentation, and system accuracyStrong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin
