Process Engineer

• Responsible for developing local manufacturing processes in the Straumann Shanghai Campus to meet the quality commitment of Straumann Group products.

• Lead equipment transferring, installation and debugging activities. Writing URS of new process equipment and execute equipment acceptance testing.

• Provide advice, guidance and resources to other function teams and project leaders as well as factory technicians. Supports on a variety of projects and participates in the project planning of major sub-projects.

• Take responsible on process validation, engineering study, writing IQ/OQ/PQ plan and protocol for validation and conducting validation activities.

• Support production activities, solving technical issues about equipment and process.

• Work together with the function team to plan, execute, and document validations for new manufacturing equipment, testing methods, and product transfers. Process documentation like PFMEA and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), and other process-related documentation.

• Participate in more complicated projects with standardization or automation objectives. For these projects, to research the latest relevant technologies available, and to lead the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques.

• Present to and/or collaborate with colleagues overseas on such projects.

• Abide by and be responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

• Other duties as may be assigned by manager.

• Bachelor degree or above in an Engineering discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering, Packaging or an equivalent background.

• More than three years’ experience as an engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a medical device industry, high potential candidates can reduce to two years’ experience; familiarity with ISO 13485, GMP, and other relevant regulations.

• Experience or knowledge with any of the following manufacturing processes: Packaging, Washing, Sandblasting, Acid etching, Laser marking, welding or other forms of surface treatment technology.

• Must demonstrate an agile and open-minded attitude. Capable of handling work-related pressure and meeting technical challenges

• Language skills: Capable of speaking and writing English.

• Must also demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and to perform hands-on engineering support work, as well as other duties as assigned by their direct supervisor.
