- This role will carry out some or all the following activities:
- Develop and implement strategies for effective issue management and resolution, minimising downtime and enhancing user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DevSecOps practices, ensuring security and compliance within the platform.
- Provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, utilising their skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing and operational support activities with the ability to move between these according to demand
- End-to-end accountability for a product or service, act as ITSO and production manager to meet customer needs as part of the Customer Journey
- Actively contributes to Technology Engineering Practice by sharing Subject Matter Expertise from their area of specialism, best practice and learnings and coaching of team members.
- Drives adherence to all standards and policies within their area of DevOps technology.
- Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered
- Responsible for automating the continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement
- Keep up-to-date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc.
- Demonstrable entrepreneurial spirit; A change driver, strong leadership and fast leaner.
- A university graduate. Graduates from an international top university highly preferred, MS or PhD preferred.
- Deep understanding of “follow the sun” Production Support Model, “Production First” concept, ITIL, DevSecOps is a muct.
- Knowledge of “Talk is cheap. Show me the code” --- Linus Torvalds (2000) Hands-on engineering capabilities in state-of-the-art technologies (AI, Blockchain, IoTs, etc.) is a must.
- Business knowledge in financial services industry (retail, wholesale and investment banking, wealth management, insurance, financial markets, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong analytical, design and problem solving skills; excellent team player with ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision

- Knowledge of architecture disciplines and the ability put the governance into practice, knowledge of industry standards will be an advantage.

- Experience coaching and mentoring technology talent.
- Relationship management inside and outside the bank with particular emphasis on excellent relationship building skills with technical and product colleagues.
- Solid demonstratable team leadership skills and excellent incident management skills
- Experience with LLM, including training, fine-tuning, optimizing, and deploying models such as GPT, BERT, or other transformer-based architectures would be a plus.
- Strong solutions architecture and engineering hands-on experience with complex enterprise solutions.
- Good understanding of design on micro-service and containerization.
- Strong experience delivering scalable solutions in finance industry area.
- Familiar with cloud platforms, including auto-scaling and global deployments of application architecture, with actual project experience on at least 1 cloud platform (including AWS, GCP and Ali Cloud).
- Capability to build up and setup PoC Environment rapidly with Cloud, Container, etc.
- Over 10 years’ experience after university bachelor degree
- Principles of Lean Startup Methodology and a VC-style portfolio management; able to imbed those into HSBC’s Agile methodology. Critical is the ability to evolve new or start-up propositions to at least stage A or B.
- Ecosystem knowledge and connectivity including incubators, accelerators, VCs and startups.
- Hands on delivery of digital products in a large enterprise.
